The scope of Online Communities
Jul 8th, 2007 by admin
I have been working on a community based website for a couple of weeks and it is almost ready for launched. It is in fact, a joint venture with one of my friend here and we are planning to get it live within the next couple of weeks, as soon as the funds for advertising campaigns is ready to be released. Thought I may not be able to spend a big amount on its promotion, I hope this will be a good and my first successful project.
But what concerns me is actually the number of online communities that has been popping up on the internet in the last couple of years. As I am constantly dealing with various webmasters on different highly active forums, I know about hundreds of new online communities budding up. Many of these communities are not a successful project as hardly a few become very successful ones while the rest remains as any other normal website or even less than that.
Thought there are many factors which decide the success of a website, an online community seems to have better chances than other themes in the present environment. People seems to become increasingly aware of the advantages interacting with new people and forming a community with like minded people. In fact, people are becoming increasingly addicted to these new generation online communities and I hope I am going to get a share of this big buzz with the launch of my new community based website.
